  1. Sir Arthur &qbo;tBomuer" Harris was made Marshal of the RAF in 1946 and was also made a Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Military Order of the Bath. In 1953, Churchill bestowed a baronetcy upon him, so his efforts did not go unrewarded.
